Montreal-based singer and multi-instrumentalist, Arielle Soucy has signed to Midnight Agency. Active as a composer since 2019, Soucy's music emanates a luminous and benevolent gentleness, blending soul and pastoral folk with minimalist arrangements.
In 2023, Soucy released her debut album Il n’y a rien que je ne suis pas (French for “There is nothing I am not”), recorded in her home studio and finalized at Montreal's Breakglass Studio with co-producer Alexandre Larin (Larynx). The album was awarded Album of the Year by Le Devoir, nominated for the Polaris Long List 2024, and received eight nominations at the l'ADISQ gala. Her latest release, the double single Future is Bright / Beautiful Sights, continues her signature blend of warm, contemplative songwriting.
Soucy’s music is built around stripped-down instrumentation, with her country-style guitar playing and expressive vocals reinterpreting traditional folk in a modern way. Her layered vocal arrangements further enhance the richness of her sound.
