Midnight Agency welcomes Miina to its roster. Led by frontwoman Laura Mina Mitic alongside her longstanding creative partners, the five-piece indie folk band has quickly gained recognition within their first year.
Miina’s debut EP Slow Motion, released in August 2023, has been climbing the Alternative charts. Their singles "Hiccup" (ft. Lowell) and "Pressure" have gained significant radio play, making Miina a Top 10 overall spinner on SiriusXM/Verge and featured on multiple Spotify playlists. The band has performed at music festivals across North America, including Edmonton Folk, Winnipeg Folk, Hillside, and Rifflandia, with multiple sold-out shows, including McPherson Theatre and a CBC live recording.
Formed by members of the well-established band Carmanah, Miina draws on the group’s past experiences while carving out a new musical direction. With long-time collaborators Pat Ferguson, Lo Waight, Graham Keehn, Jamil Demers, and Chelsea Kanstrup, the band teamed up with producer Gus Van Go to blend groovy elements from their original sound with fresh inspiration and musical maturity.
Putting strength in femininity at the forefront, Laura Mina’s voice is confident and graceful. "This new project honours our past while elevating our passion,” says Laura Mina. “With a little more wisdom and a lot more fire, it is both empowering and exciting to share Miina's new sound.”
