Psychedelic Surf Rock Group, Surf Hat Joins Midnight Agency

Midnight welcomes psych-surf group Surf Hat. Hailing from Squamish, BC, the group's debut album, aptly titled "Surf Hat," has amassed hundreds of thousands of streams, captivating a growing fan base across North America.

Surf Hat, a classic power-trio, blends the jangly surf-rock guitar style of modern bands mixed with the sweetly harmonized vocals of beloved classics. In March 2024, they released their sophomore album, "Surf Hat Ranch," which further refined and broadened their sound. The group has consistently sold out shows in 2022 and 2023 while showcasing their live performances at festivals such as Big Winter Classic, the Khatsahlano Festival, and the Five Acre Shaker.


Their music is a dynamic fusion, reminiscent of the Allah-lahs meeting The Ventures or The Beatles. "We like to call our style 'psychedelic surf rock,' with a variety of different influences," explains band member Camm. This eclectic mix includes a nod to The Tragically Hip and an East Coast flavour, courtesy of members Ravalia and Allan, both Newfoundland natives. "We draw inspiration from all kinds of musical genres," they add, which results in their spirited tunes.

With live performances as compelling as their recordings, Surf Hat brings a refreshing style with a strong, growing fan base. As they continue to spread their artistry, they confidently declare, "Surf Hat are looking to take their signature sound on the road for the next million years or so."
